How To Score

I added points to Cityfinger a year ago. Most people like it and kept asking me of what actions score anyway. I never wrote it down in detail, so here’s a sorted list:

• create a new tip
• send an invitation to the service that gets converted
• create a new family
• write a review for a tip
• upload a picture
• rate something
• tell about an attendence

Now the magic’s gone because the mechanism is really simply. I always wanted to do something more sophisticated but I totally lack the time.

Review, Rating and Guest List Features Released!

We just released three new features: reviews, ratings and guest list.

The review feature lets you publish reviews on your an other people’s tips. It’s a little different from what you know from other sites since with it, you create one paragraph within a text of other users’ reviews. All reviews together create a continous text body which looks really cool. You can only add one review per tip but edit it as often as you like. The order of paragraphs is first-come-first-served.

The rating feature is a simple thumbs-up thumbs-down thing for you to say how you like the tip or family.

The guest list feature is a straight forward thing to get a picture of how many readers will attend an event.

BarCamp Berlin 2

Das BarCamp Berlin 2, das ich zusammen mit Matias, Fabio, Frank, Andreas, Nicole und Oliver veranstaltet habe, war ein riesiger Erfolg. Wir hatte am Samstag 400+ und am Sonntag 300+ Gäste, am Sonntag waren die Räume bis zum Schluss nicht nur aus- sondern regelrecht überbucht. Der gesamte Ablauf verlief unglaublich reibungslos und angenehm.

Zu dieser Gelegenheit hatte cityfinger seinen ersten offiziellen Auftritt: ich habe einigen meiner lieben Bekannten der Szene auf dem Flur einmal gezeigt, wovon ich seit über einem Jahr rede: dem Projekt cityfinger.

Für alle, die cityfinger noch nicht kennen: cityfinger ist eine Kommunikationsplattform, auf der man mit seinen engsten Freunden Geheimtips teilt. Diese Tips sind Orte, die man nicht der Öffentlichkeit preisgeben möchte. Auf cityfinger gibt es überhaupt keine öffentlichen Inhalte.

Die meisten Reaktionen auf die Interaktion und das Design waren sehr gut, obwohl es seine Eigenarten hat: es ist nicht gerade typisch Web2.0, um es mal gelinde auszudrücken. Manche sind natürlich auch an unserer Nomenklatur und unseren Metaphern angeeckt. Eine Polarisierung ist unserer Meinung aber nichts, was man unbedingt aus der Welt schaffen muss. Wir kennen inzwischen alle Einwände und Bedenken dazu und sind uns sicher, dass wir das Richtige tun.
